State Emission Inspections & Repairs in Houston, TX

VEHICLE INSPECTION IN HOUSTON

Getting an annual vehicle inspection isn't just good maintenance practice, it's Texas law. Get your sticker with Elite Auto Experts!

ONE STICKER. ZERO HASSLE.

The Texas Department of Public Safety requires vehicle owners in Harris County to perform a safety inspection and emissions testing every year. The law intends to ensure that vehicles meet minimum safety standards and comply with emission regulations designed to help protect the environment.

Elite Auto Experts is an Official Vehicle Inspection Station for the state of Texas, as well as a Recognized Emissions Repair Facility of Texas. These credentials ensure that your vehicle inspection is fully compliant with Texas laws and regulations,

HOW IT'S DONE:

Please be prepared to show your car insurance documentation when you bring your vehicle in for an inspection. We will then check that the following items are in good working order and/or comply with state law:

  • Horn
  • Windshield wipers
  • Mirrors
  • Steering
  • Seat belts
  • Brake system
  • Tires
  • Wheel assembly
  • Exhaust system
  • Tail & stop lamps
  • License plate lamp
  • Red rear reflectors
  • Turn signals
  • Headlights
  • Vehicle Identification Number (VIN)
  • Gas cap
  • Window tint

Finally, we'll conduct emissions testing on gasoline-powered vehicles between 2-24 years old.

MY CAR FAILED THE VEHICLE INSPECTION. NOW WHAT?

Sometimes seemingly little things can cause your vehicle to fail the safety inspection or emissions testing. Something as simple as a dangling muffler or a broken tail light, for example, can keep you from getting your sticker. In most cases, the issue is easily fixed and your vehicle will pass the inspection with flying colors the next time around.

Every now and again, however, a failed inspection may indicate a bigger underlying issue. When that happens (and with your prior approval, of course), our technicians can diagnose the problem quickly and suggest a course of action.
